What is Herbal Therapy?
“Herbal medicine, also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine, refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes. Herbalism has a long tradition of use outside conventional medicine. It is becoming more mainstream as improvements in analysis and quality control, along with advances in clinical research, show the value of herbal medicine in treating and preventing disease.” - Mount Sinai
Used correctly, herbs can help treat a variety of conditions, and in some cases, may have fewer side effects than some conventional medications. Never assume that because herbs are "natural," they are safe. Some herbs may be inappropriate for people with certain medical conditions. Because they are unregulated, herbal products are often mislabeled and may contain additives and contaminants that are not listed on the label. Some herbs may cause allergic reactions or interact with conventional drugs, and some are toxic if used improperly or at high doses. Taking herbs on your own increases your risk, so it is important to consult with your doctor or pharmacist before taking herbal medicines.
Do NOT self diagnose and see a professional!
How can AFA help me with Herbal Therapy?
Christina, AFA’s owner, is training in Clinical Master Herbalism. This means she is qualified to work with and within a doctor’s office setting. She has studied for many hours in human anatomy, herbal therapy interactions and contraindications, and even prescription drug interactions. She has studied the best methods to administer herbs properly including what parts of the plant to use and when, and the best method for specific applications. She will connect with you one on one and you will get your own personal herbal remedy to suit your needs. There will be no magick involved, as this is a more realistic approach to your health and well-being. The bottle will even be tinted in either dark blue, brown, or green, as to not spoil the herbs in their natural form. This is for an one hour session and consultation. You will have a follow-up email with the date and time I have selected with a *payment link, consent and intake forms, and Zoom call link.
*Please note that all payments must be made before the date and time of the call or you will not be receiving services from Chrissy
